Greg Joswiak announced March 17th that Apple is bringing support for CalDav to iPhone 3.0. Of course, this means support for Google/Yahoo! calendars, both which also feature push notification. Google’s addition of CalDav support to Google Calendar was relatively recent, but now it has the ability to push-sync data up to and down from the cloud onto any desktop and mobile device. What about Apple’s very own MobileMe service? One of the coolest features it used to boast is the push syncing from the MobileMe cloud to the iPhone, Mac, and PC. However, now that Apple is about to enable CalDav support in iPhone 3.0, i.e. native support for the free Google Calendar, will it be digging its own grave for its paid MobileMe service?
