Review: JotNotiPhone Document Imaging

I’ve stumbled across a very interesting new app called “JotNot Scan” (iTunes Link here, $3.99) which enables you to snap a quick photo of any document (or object for that matter), and enhance it sothat you have a very-close-to-scanned copy of the document. Check out the screenshots.

First you take a photo of the document:

Then you use the app’s multi-touch interface to drag the corners of a cropping rectangle:

When that’s done, it enhances the image:

I’d say the image enhancing is of quite remarkably good quality, given the relatively unsophisticated lens that comes with the iPhone and the limited APIs open to developers. Here’s another before and after:
