Here’s a nifty little tip for those who simply despise the new UI of the final build of Safari 4 (now 4.0.1) released several weeks ago at WWDC. We know that Apple has been playing around with the interface of its web browser since the first Public Beta of Safari 4, and somehow it has gotten somewhat confused itself. The tab bars started out on top, and just when people have begun to get used to that, Apple moved them back to the bottom.
Nonetheless, I found this useful tip on macosxhints.com. This is quite a trivial thing, but effectively gets rid of the new “+” add bookmark button attached onto the left of the URL bar. Follow the link for the worded instructions. I’m just going to give a diagrammatic explanation as below. Now, only if there’s a way we can move that stop/refresh button from its wretched position on the right of the URL bar!!

thanks for pointing to this tip. Now the toolbar looks so much better. If only the ‘Reload’ button could be added back on the left rather than in the right of the URL bar!! (I did see your other post/tip for the Reload button, but then that adds the reload button to the bookmarks bar, and i am not so comfortable with that!)
